VATE Online Networks Terms and Conditions

You must be a current individual or organisational member of VATE to be subscribed to the VATE Online Networks (VCE English, VCE EAL, VCE English Language, VCE Literature, Middle Years).

The VATE networks support the teaching and learning of English. It is for educators only – this is important as members often share resources that are used in school assessment tasks. Members of the networks are very generous in sharing advice, ideas, activities, texts, and assessment tasks – wherever possible, copyright should be acknowledged and permission sought to protect intellectual property. For privacy reasons, the sharing of students' work on the networks is not permitted.

As with all online discussions, it is also expected that everyone communicates in a professional and considerate manner. We are a large, mixed group of teachers, writers, publishers, assessors, and tutors, with varying levels of teaching experience. We respect everyone's need to minimise email traffic, so if your message doesn't need to go to the whole group, please communicate directly with the individual, especially to express your gratitude. It's helpful if you include your contact details, especially your email, in the body of the email if you wish to be contacted directly. The promotion of commercial products and services that directly compete with those of VATE is also not appropriate.
