Inside Stories: New Texts for 2025

Join our Inside Stories writers as they unpack new texts to the VCE English text list for 2025. The writers will explore each text and its applications for the classroom, including:

• Ways into the text
• Structure of the text
• Characters
• Ideas, concerns and values
• Language and style
• Perspective on the text
• Close study
• Suggested further activities
• Key quotes
• Analytical text responses topics

All sessions will run on Thursday 28 November from 4pm - 5pm on Zoom. The sessions will be recorded for you to revisit in preparing to teach in 2025.

• Twelfth Night: presented by Mark Stracey, St Kevin's College
• Ghost Wall: presented by Ernest Price, Hoppers Crossing Secondary College
• Jane Eyre: presented by Emma Catchpole

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be emailed to events@vate.org.au. Cancellations received by 12pm five working days prior to the event date will be charged a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations received after this will receive NO REFUND. Registrations can, however, be transferred to another staff member. Please email events@vate.org.au the details. If you do not attend and have not notified VATE according to the above policy, you will receive no refund.  Please note: If this event is cancelled due to COVID government or venue restrictions, you will receive a full refund.
