Literature Network Meeting One

Description

NEW TEXTS IN 2023

In our first 2023 Literature Network Meeting, we are looking at the nine texts that have been set for the first time this year. A second meeting on September 13 will focus on Preparing for the Exam.

Our presenters are giving an overview of each new text, with some guidance as to resources, and ideas as to how each text can be used for particular outcomes, and / or the examination.

  • Alias Grace - Lani Riverans
  • Berlin - Christine Lambrianidis
  • Chimerica - Briony Schroor
  • Smart Ovens for Lonely People - Anna Purcell
  • Stories of Your Life and Others - TBC
  • The World's Wife - Heather Maunder
  • The Yield - Alex Grimwade
  • Throat - Christine Lambrianidis
  • Wonderful Adventures of Mrs Seacole in Many Lands - Dr. Scarlet Luk

Our aim is to give Literature teachers some ideas to enrich their teaching of the texts, or to inspire them to teach these new texts next year, as they begin their planning. Although we are meeting by Zoom, this is also an opportunity to connect with other Lit teachers, and to share resources.
