Structuring Your Year - VCE Units 3 and 4

Get a head start on planning and preparing for the delivery of Units 3 and 4 English, English Language, and Literature for 2025 with VATE's Structuring Your Year lectures. 

The focus of VATE's Structuring Your Year lectures is on how to best set up the year's learning including:

• Suggestions on when to schedule coursework and SACs
• Approaches to assessment and understanding the assessment requirements
• How to assess, moderate, and benchmark effectively, including how to do this in a timely way without compromising quality and creating additional marking stress
• How to advocate for moderation time with your school leadership
• The sharing of a timeline and unit planning materials that you can use in your context.

Presented by experienced teachers, all sessions will run from 4pm to 5:15pm on Tuesday 3 December 2024 and will be recorded for you to refer back to when planning for the year ahead. 

• Units 3 and 4 English: presented by Kate Blandford and Ernest Price, Hoppers Crossing Secondary College
• Units 3 and 4 English Language: presented by Rebecca Swain, Carey Baptist Grammar School
• Units 3 and 4 Literature: presented by Madeleine Coulombe, Eltham College

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be emailed to events@vate.org.au. Cancellations received by 12pm five working days prior to the event date will be charged a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations received after this will receive NO REFUND. Registrations can, however, be transferred to another staff member. Please email events@vate.org.au the details. If you do not attend and have not notified VATE according to the above policy, you will receive no refund.  Please note: If this event is cancelled due to COVID government or venue restrictions, you will receive a full refund.
