VATE would like to invite both experienced and new English teachers from the wider Shepparton district to experience a day of professional learning around improving moderation practices in schools at the Shepparton Regional Centre for the Victorian Academy of Teaching. Participation in the day will help to build a supportive network of teachers from the Shepparton region, enhance your school's moderation skills and build more effective teaching and learning programs that respond directly to the needs of students. Presenters will explore and articulate the links between middle years and senior years English, ensuring that the day's learning caters for teachers of all secondary year levels. Listen and learn from the voices, expertise and experience of local English teachers at schools from across the Shepparton region.
The day will be led by Ross Huggard, a highly experienced English teacher, VCAA assessor and presenter, along with a team of local experienced teachers. This team will lead three distinct sessions around best moderation practices that both lead to improved student outcomes and reduce some of the marking pressures experienced by teachers.
