Writing in the Regions - Warrnambool

Description

This day of professional learning will be led by Ernest Price, author of the novel, Pyramid of Needs, and an experienced English teacher and school leader currently working at Hoppers Crossing Secondary College. Participation in these days will give teachers an opportunity to engage, collaborate and network with other teachers working in each region while enhancing their capacity to teach writing and effective teaching and learning programs at your school. Across the day teachers will:

  • Explore the ways teachers can plan units of work around writing
  • Develop forms and approaches for teaching writing beyond short narratives
  • Build effective strategies for assessing, benchmarking and providing feedback on creative writing.

Participation in the day also includes a follow-up sharing session to be held on Zoom where teachers will have the opportunity to share approaches, strategies and resources around how they are teaching creative writing in schools around their area.
