ACMI and VATE present: Gurrumul

Description

Gurrumul is a portrait of the blind Indigenous artist Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, one of Australia’s most celebrated and important voices. Paul William's documentary depicts an artist on the brink of global reverence, as he struggles to balance that which mattered most to him.

Beginning with a screening in ACMI's Cinema 2, this professional learning program also includes:

  • lecture from our ACMI expert focusing on context, film language and themes
  • lecture from experienced teacher Anna Carrig about teaching strategies
  • teaching resources
  • morning tea and lunch

In addition, we have capped this program to keep your professional learning experience comfortable and collaborative.

We look forward delving into this masterful documentary and the legacy of the late Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu.

Ground level at ACMI does not open until 10am. Please use the Federation Square entrance.
