These workshops are built around the Copyright Agency’s Reading Australia project – a rich, curriculum-mapped collection of rigorously researched resources that honours Australia’s literary heritage and offers a genuine treasure trove of texts, contexts and ideas for English teachers across all year levels and jurisdictions.
Led by Karys McEwen, author, librarian and Reading Australia Secondary Resources Manager, and Emma Jenkins, VATE Education Officer and experienced Reading Australia resource writer, these workshops will explore how these resources can deepen knowledge, promote curiosity and shift text studies from traditional comprehension and procedural drills toward genuine meaning making.
These workshops are free to attend and open to all teachers, wherever you are in Australia.
Both workshops will run from 4 – 5pm (AEST) online via Zoom.
Years 10 – 12: Thursday 13 August
Years 7 – 9: Thursday 3 September
