VATE runs VCE Student Revision Days for English, English as an Additional Language, English Language and Literature in October every year.
The Student Revision Days in October are an opportunity to revise the year and cover effective strategies for approaching the exams. Sessions are presented by experienced teachers and are extremely popular. Sessions are for students ONLY. Parents and teachers are not permitted to attend unless by prior arrangement.
Q. Where are they held?
A. In 2019 the days are being held at Monash University, Caulfield. The dates: Saturday 12 October (English and EAL) and Sunday 13 October (English Language and Literature)
Q. What is the cost for the day?
A. The current cost of the day is $55.00 plus $1.50 credit card fee (online registration only).
Q. How do I pay for my registration?
A. Visa; Mastercard. Schools can use a Purchase Order number.
Q. How do I know that I’m registered?
A. You will receive an automatic invoice after you press the submit button. You will also receive a confirmation email to your nominated email address. If you do not receive either of these, you may not be registered. You will need to contact the VATE office 9411 8500.
Q. Can I register on the day?
A. No, you are not able to register on the day.
Q. What if I don’t receive my ticket by email?
A. If your school registers you, all tickets will be emailed to the appropriate teacher. If you registered yourself, you may have submitted an incorrect email or your registration may not have been successful. Contact the VATE office 9411 8500.
Q. Do I have to sign in at the registration table?
A. No. However, you must ensure that you bring your Entry Ticket (paper copy or on your device) on the day. If you do not bring this ticket, then you need to go to the registration desk to collect another ticket. This is a time-consuming task, so it’s important that you bring the Entry Ticket that is emailed to you.
Q. What should I bring on the day?
A. You should bring something to write on and some pens. If you are going to text specific sessions, you should bring those texts. You should also bring your lunch, as lunch is not provided. You are NOT able to record sessions.
Q. Will I be given handouts?
A. If supplied to VATE by the presenter, you will receive access to online notes. This could include: the PowerPoint the presenter used; sample essays; key quotes; revision exercises, etc.
